Society Wins Top Award for Join Hands Day

The National Fraternal Congress of America recognized National Mutual Benefit on September 25, 2004 for demonstrating strong support for JOIN HANDS DAY. NMB was given the Platinum Award, the highest level of recognition for JOIN HANDS DAY. To achieve the platinum level, societies must promote JHD to branches through mailings, member magazines, and web sites, report at least one JHD activity on May 1, 2004, contribute financially to the national JHD organization, and become a model city.

NFCA's member-societies partnered with the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network in 2000 to launch the first JOIN HANDS DAY. This is the only day of service on America's national calendar that seeks to build youth and adult relationships through planning and participating in a day of volunteering.
